RESOLUTION 1992 -83 CREATING A SEPARATE FUND ENTITLED COUNTY MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH PLANNING ACT Prepare a county maternal and child health care plan that receives BCC approval before it is submitted to the Department of Health. Plan shall include a county needs assessment that identifies and quantifies populations unable to obtain adequate services; major factors that affect accessibility; gaps in services; and the extent to which county resident’s uses services available in other counties. Prepares a county inventory of providers, services, Medicaid, other government resources, program duplications; county contributions and recommendations of how to improve and fund services. The BCC shall appoint 7 members (we are in the process of updating the resolution) to the council and they shall represent a broad spectrum of interests that may include: Committee Members: Terms of Each Member: Bio of each member: Kim Strauss – Administrator and Foundation Manager, Brindle Foundation and has been a member since 2002 to present. He is a member of the MCH Council; NM Association for Infant Mental Health, NM Early Childhood Alliance, and NM Association of Grantmakers. Lara Yoder – Program Manager; Housing Services; The Life Link and has been a member of the MCH Council from March 2009 to present. Has worked at Faith at Work Community Outreach; Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families, Inc.; Veterinary Telemedicine Group, Inc. Has volunteered at the Teen Parent Center; and Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families. Jill Reichman – Associate Research Scientist, Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation and has been a member since 2006 to present. Has worked at Santa Fe Institute for Social Research; Committee on Survey Methods Research; US Bureau of the Census; John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Successful Midlife Development; Spencer Foundation Grant to Study Retention of Memories of Education Episodes; Ford Foundation Fellowship. Is a member of MCH Council, American Anthropological Association, Society for Applied Anthropology, and Society for Medical Anthropology. Janet Aboytes – Program Director, Teen Parent at Santa Fe High School and has been a member since 2005 to present. Has worked at the Espanola Public Schools and at Peanut Butter & Jelly Inc. Is a member of the MCH Council. Magi Gerety – Early Childhood Director, New Vistas Early Childhood Program and has been a member since 1985 to present. Has worked at Ramsey County Infant Program, Humble Independent School District, Riverdell Infant Program, Jefferson County Community Center, Esperanza Preschool and Infant Program. Is a member of the MCH Council. Kristi Readyhough – Step*Hi Regional Supervisor, NM School for the Deaf, Early Childhood Department. Has been a member since 2000 to present. Has worked at NM School for the Deaf, Instructional Supervisor and Early Childhood Teacher, North Carolina School for the Deaf, Prince William County Public Preschool and Infant Program. Is a member of the MCH Council; Santa Fe Affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NM Universal Newborn Screening Early Intervention Task Force, Fairfax Resource Center for the Hearing Impaired. Betty Cardenas – Case Manager for Christus/St. Vincent Regional Hospital/CARE Connection and has been a member since 2010 to present. Has worked at Santa Fe County Home For Good Program, Youth Program Specialist, Improving Health Initiative Health Planning County Coordinator, Community Care of Pojoaque, Sandoval County Economic Opportunity Corporation, Albuquerque-Bernalillo Economic Opportunity Board. She is a member of the MCH Council, Santa Fe County Housing Authority Family Self-Sufficiency Advisory Council, and Camino de Jacobo Youth Group. Lynn Hathaway – City of Santa Fe Children and Youth Commission Director, and has been a member since 1989 to present. Has worked at College of Santa Fe; Museum of Navajo Ceremonial Art and the School of American Research; Santa Fe Public Schools Consultant; Parent University; and Unitarian Church. She is a member of the MCH Council, Santa Fe Youth Providers Coalition, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and New Mexico Association of Grantmakers. Marcia Panagakos – Clinical Social Worker for Christus/St. Vincent Regional Hospital and has been a member since 1997 to present. Has worked as a Clinical Coordinator; Adult Day Treatment Program; Social Worker; Behavioral Science Center; Director of Human Services; Coordinator of Psychiatric Social Services; all at St Vincent Hospital; Pinon Hills Hospital; United Cerebral Palsy of New York State; New York State of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities; and Brooklyn School for Special Children. She is a member of MCH Council, Steering Committee member for the Santa Fe Community Infant Project.
